Destination Vacation: Avenue of the Stars, Hong Kong

Avenue of the stars, Hong KongDestination Vacation: Avenue of the Stars, Hong Kong

T'was our first day of tour here in Hong Kong, so we left Rambler Garden Hotel as early as 7:30 in the morning. Our itinerary for the day was the City Tour and we were heading to the Avenue of the Stars, where hand prints and autographs of the City's famous stars are printed and set in cement on the wide alley of Victoria Harbour Waterfront located at Tsim Sha Tsui.
As usual, I was excited when I saw the two-storey building of Starbucks Coffee right at the very start of the Harbour. However, what excites me here is to get pictures of some of the hand prints of my favorite Chinese actors and actresses, and of course the statue of Bruce Lee. Below are the still photos I took at The Avenue of the Stars, so enjoy!

At first, it look like an ice cream station from a distance in the Harbour, but it was not. It is a colorful object with design rests at the right side of the Harbour, though I was wondering what could be the role of this colorful object in the Harbour. Anyway, from here I saw lots of hand prints of the stars which I am not familiar with. So, I decided to take only pictures of the Chinese Hand prints which I am familiar with.
Below are the hand prints of Maggie Cheung, Jet Li, Bruce Lee, and Jacky Chan. Although I was trying to get photos of the hand prints of Andy Lau, Michelle Yeoh, Sammo Hung, Stephen Chow, and Chow Yun Fat, but unfortunately I was not able to capture closer view of the them because there were a number of foreigners waiting in line to take photos of their hand prints.

Bruce Lee's name has no hand prints and autographs on it, simply because this place was constructed decades after Bruce Lee's death. Well, without a doubt he is the most famous personality here in the Avenue of the Stars and made a big name around the globe for years. And he is the only star here with a statue..I like Bruce Lee a lot.

We were able to stroll around the Avenue of the Stars and capture every detail we find interesting despite the scorching heat of the sun as early as 9 o'clock in the morning. Although I saw a lot of Chinese people carry themselves umbrellas while roaming around maybe because it is summer here. Seriously, the City is terribly hot and we were not prepared for this, we should have brought ourselves umbrellas or wear clothes with sleeves and long pants. In general, we had a lot of fun!
I guess it is time for us to to leave and visit some of the stores in the City that produce some of the best delicacies in town.
More stories to tell and pictures to share on my next post about Hong Kong.
